Ligue 2: draw between Metz and Le Havre, no change at the top of the standings

2023-03-14T07:42:30.780Z

Badly embarked on the lawn of Metz, Le Havre got the draw in the second half (1-1) to chain a 25th match without defeat in the league, Monday at the end of the 27th day of Ligue 2.

Still a comfortable leader, Le Havre (56 pts) regains a 9-point lead over its runner-up, Bordeaux.

Metz, which could have taken 2nd place in the event of a victory, remains 4th with 45 points, also ahead of Sochaux (46 pts).

At the end of this day, it is a total status quo at the top of the classification since the first five have all drawn.

At half-time, the Messins were however virtually on the second step of the Ligue 2 podium, thanks to the opener in the 20th minute from Youssef Maziz, perfectly served by Ablie Jallow 3 meters from the Le Havre goal.

Seven months unbeaten

But the Grenats were picked cold a few seconds after returning from the locker room by the equalizer from Richardson (46th), on a powerful strike.

It then took a parade from Alexandre Oukidja to prevent Le Havre from doubling the bet on a strike from Quentin Cornette (50th).

Two minutes later, the same Cornette again almost scored on a curled shot, passed just next to the Messin cages.

Le Havre has not lost in the league since moving to Valenciennes on August 6, 2022, on the second day (1-0).

A series that allows the Normans to glimpse more and more concretely the rise in Ligue 1, while only two teams will be promoted this season.
