Women's Olympique Lyonnais coach Sonia Bompastor and her assistant Camille Abily have extended their contract for two years, until June 2025, the French and European champion club announced on Thursday.
Ex-captain of the Rhone team (171 matches, 36 goals), Bompastor (42), the first woman to win the Champions League as a player and then as a coach, has been leading the OL women's professional team since April 2021;
when she took over from Jean-Luc Vasseur, sacked.
Camille Abily (38), also a former OL player (326 matches, 209 goals), has been coaching OL Women since 2019.
Lyon, leaders of the French championship, are still in the running for a hat-trick.
The club receives FC Fleury on Friday in the semi-final of the Coupe de France (5:30 p.m.), then will play Wednesday in the quarter-final first leg of the C1 against Chelsea.
