Next round in the playoff semifinals between Erding and Miesbach.

Erding – The Gladiators lead 2-1 in the “Best of Five” series, so they only need one win to get into the final.

Tonight's game at the MiaHelfnZam Stadium kicks off at 8 p.m.

Who will follow EHC Königsbrunn into the final after beating TSV Peißenberg in three clear games (5:1, 7:2, 7:1)?

That question will be answered this weekend.

If the gladiators win today, then they will be the opponents in Königsbrunn.

If Miesbach prevails, the decision will be made on Sunday (6 p.m.) in Erding.

The first encounters were incredibly exciting, so that even today one cannot assume that things will be clear.

The results were 2:0 for Erding, 5:4 after a penalty shootout for Miesbach and 5:3 for Erding.

So there were nothing but home wins - as in the qualifying round, when there was a 4:2 for Erding and a 6:1 for Miesbach - each on their own ice.

From that point of view, the TEV in its own hall is the favorite tonight.

A clear wear and tear of strength has recently made itself felt in both teams, not least because the injury or illness bad luck has struck.

Erding's team boss Felix Schütz has his entire team available except for those with long-term injuries, although some players are still suffering from flu-like after-effects.

Miesbach's coach Michael Baindl recently had to do without key top performers in defense chief Matthias Bergmann and strikers Nick Endress and Sebastian Deml, who were injured during the series.

On the other hand, the veteran Nikolaus "Niki" Meier, who has recently given the defense significantly more stability, was reactivated at short notice.

It will be interesting to see who will keep the Miesbach goal tonight, until now Janik Engler and Timon Ewert have alternated.

Gladiators team boss Schütz will probably again rely on "playoff monster" Christoph Schedlbauer.

So it's set for game number four.
