District league derby in Langengeisling: This Saturday at 2 p.m., the FCL welcomes second-bottom FC Finsing.

Langengeisling/Finsing – The big question before the duel between the district neighbors is: Can FCF finally achieve their first away win?

"It's a derby and things could get hot there," believes FCL player coach Maxi Hintermaier.

"The game in Finsing was also very heated." The Geislingen team had lost there, initially conceded a time penalty and a red card in the final phase and scored the 1:2 with nine men.

It wasn't enough to compensate.

"I don't know why the Finsingers are down there, they're a good group based on their name," Hintermaier wonders.

"They probably keep making individual mistakes, and that's why it's hard to say how they're doing." The narrow defeat in the preliminary round still rankles him: "We still have something to make up for."

As for the squad, Michael Hierl will return in goal for the injured Christian Bernhardt.

Also back in the squad are Hannes Dornauer and Maxi Birnbeck, who was on the bench last week despite being ill.

Michael Faltlhauser will be absent, there are still question marks behind the ailing offensive forces Maxi Maier and David Riederle.

“We're going to Langengeisling to get three points.

That's our plan.

If we lose there again, the other teams in the basement will gradually run away from us," says Finsing's assistant coach Stefan Gasda, who speaks of a good week of training: "We trained very well twice with 16 and 17 men and are well prepared into the party.

Of course we know the opponent's strengths and we have to see that we can get a grip on people like player-coach Maxi Hintermaier and attacker Florian Rupprecht, who is freezing in front of goal."

Coach Bernd Häfele, who knows Hintermaier very well from their time together in Heimstetten, has to do without Florian Hölzl, who tore a muscle fiber against FC Töging.

Manuel Fuchs is still on vacation, but defender Marko Batljan and attacker Philipp Tholl, who were not there against Toeging, are available again.
