The cone derby in the state league offered a lot of excitement: in the end there was a clear winner – and a decision regarding relegation.

Eberfing

– The derby victory was clear at 6:2, but the tone of the winner was more muted.

Eberfing's player Andreas Gattinger spoke of a "happy ending for us".

And with a view to what is happening on the local tracks in the Gasthof "zur Post", he added: "Seeshaupt really challenged us."

Nevertheless, the sports bowlers from Gut Holz Eberfing were happy about the result in this state league duel, which is so important for both teams.

After seven defeats in a row, the former table leader left the track as a winner for the first time.

In the fight for relegation, the boar fingers can hope again.

Eberfing wins against Seeshaupt 6:2

While the side remain third from bottom (and thus in the relegation zone), the gap to the clubs ahead has narrowed.

The situation is still quite unclear due to the so-called sliding descent.

In the worst case, the bottom four of the ten-team league are relegated.

One thing is clear: The Seeshaupters - who dropped back to tenth place due to the defeat - have to go back down to the district league after a season in the second highest Bavarian league.

As is so often the case this season, things went well for the guests: they kept up well, made one or the other exclamation point, but overall they were behind their opponents.

Two FC players stayed under 500 wood this time – “that hurt them,” said Gattinger.

The 3273 wood of the Seeshaupter were ultimately not enough to contest the two obligatory extra points from the Eberfingers (3302).

In the starting pairings, Eberfing's Matthias Lange (561 wood/3:1 sets) had a mixed game, but he still got the team point against Leonhard Werner (494).

"That was not to be expected," said Gattinger.

Eberfing's Tobias Zahler (560/1:3) and Pascal Schouten (569) fought at a high level.

The Seeshaupter prevailed;

in the decisive fourth round, a two-wood difference made the difference.

Eike Grabe shows top performance to the fullest

In the middle pairings, the Eberfinger got both team points.

Gattinger (555/3:1) prevailed against Alexander Wassermann (543).

After three sets, all of which the boar finger won, the decision was made.

In the third round both were convincing - Gattinger with 111 wood, Wassermann with 103 wood.

In the final sentence, Seeshaupter reduced the deficit significantly (131:114).

In the duel next to it, Hubert Resch (538/2:2) had the upper hand against Daniel Hey (495).

In the last set, the Eberfinger finally made things clear with a 151:119.

The Boar Fingers went into the final pairings with a lead of 68 wood.

The guests caught up in the meantime.

But not only the tension was high, the level at which the opponents were moving was also remarkable.

Eric Kühberger and Thomas Lackinger fought a close match, at the end of which both scored 582 wood.

However, Kühberger had won three sets and thus secured the team point.

In the last round, the Eberfinger made the decision with a strong clearing (62:44).

Seeshaupt's Eike Grabe also showed very fine bowling, achieving the best performance of the day with 590 wood and thus keeping Markus Lindner (551) in check in all four sets.

Both players were equal when it came to clearing (183), while Grabe put in an almost furious performance with 407 wood.

On Saturday, March 18, Eberfing will play against SSV Bobingen II, who are also threatened with relegation.

On Sunday, March 19, Seeshaupter expect SG Steppach/Deuringen with the same number of points for a basement duel.
