Nine points separate the leaders Barcelona and Real Madrid, second in the table, so a Catalan victory in the great Clasico held at the Camp Nou stadium tonight (Sunday, 10:00 p.m.) may seal the fate of the championship in the Spanish league, even though there are 13 rounds left until the end of the season, including the current one.
This is the fourth meeting out of five between the teams this season: in the first round the Blancos won 1:3, but then they saw the arch rival celebrate at their expense a victory in the Super Cup and also won 0:1 two and a half weeks ago in the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey, with the second leg taking place at the Camp Nou on the 5th April.
Barcelona have not scored more than one goal in any of their last five games, although 0:1 is the result in which Xavi and his players have won the most games this season in the league - nine in total.
First of all, it holds the right to the best defense in Spain, and the one who returns tonight from suspension is Ronald Araujo, who was placed in the right-back position to guard Vinicius, with whom he developed a personal rivalry in the last games between the teams.
Sergi Roberto took Federi's place in midfield and was preferred over Frank Casilla.
On the other hand, Carlo Ancelotti brought up the same 11 that started in the 0:1 victory over Liverpool last Wednesday, on the way to the quarterfinals of the Champions League.
This means that Nacho continues at left-back due to injuries to David Alaba and Perlan Mendy, while Eduardo Camabinga mans the full-back position with Luka Modric and Toni Kroos alongside him in midfield.
