The Israeli fighter Yanal "Red Fox" Ashmoz (Yanal "Red Fox" Ashmoz) recorded a historic victory yesterday (Saturday) in his debut fight in the UFC.
The Israeli Circassian fighter competed against Sam Patterson in a fight that took place in England in front of thousands of viewers in the slot of the new fighters entering the UFC.
Patterson, who enjoys the support of the local crowd, is considered the favorite according to the betting sites - but the Israeli started a storm and defeated him after just one minute.
Ashmoz charged with a huge blow to Patterson's head, took him to the ground, from where he attacked him with punches, and only after many seconds the referee stopped the fight and declared a knockout.
It was his seventh victory in Ashmose's professional career, and his first victory in the UFC.
"UFC is a different level than any other competition, it's very professional, it was a very pleasant experience," he said at the end, "you feel the energy from the crowd. I met a local opponent, and of course the crowd was in his favor, but in a fight the crowd can't help you, so it doesn't bother Me. I'm used to dealing with a tall opponent, almost always my opponents are taller than me, I'm used to it, I'm always the shorter one."
He added that in his opinion the referee could have stopped the fight earlier: "It's his decision, but in the end with every blow I gave him I opened his face. If he felt he could fight, why not. But the referee decides when to stop the fight."
According to him, "I have enormous power in my hands, and if the opponent in front of me wants to stand in front of me and confront me, you will see many more punches like this."
