Hazum was born in Iraq and immigrated to Israel with his family at a young age.
He made his Hapoel Tel Aviv debut in a derby against Maccabi Tel Aviv in 1964 and played for the team for 13 years.
In total, he wore the team's uniform in 383 games in all formats and scored 133 goals.
To this day, he remains in second place in Hapoel Tel Aviv's top scorer table in the league (97), the deputy of Shia Feigenbaum, a peer he has collaborated with for many years.
Hazum was part of the Israeli team's squad for the 1970 World Cup, the only one that the Blue-Whites advanced to, but did not participate in the tournament.

He is remembered with a blessing. Yehezkel Hazum (1947-2023) played for Hapoel 13 seasons and is considered one of the club's greatest strikers in history. He won two championships with the team in the 1960s and the State Cup (1972). In addition, he won the Asian Championship with the team (1967). Hazum played 383 games in Hapoel in all formats in which he scored 133 goals and assisted 22."
