Michael Schumacher's wife lives "like a prisoner", rejecting invitations to meetings, refusing lunches and parties, all to keep his condition a secret and his privacy - so claims Eddie Jordan, a senior Formula 1 official and close to the family.
Schumacher had a skiing accident in December 2013 and was put into a medically induced coma.
He was later moved to the family home near Lake Geneva in September 2014, where medical staff support his wife Corinna and help her care for him.
Jordan, who is close to the legendary Ferrari driver, revealed last year that Schumacher's family had vetoed his plans to visit the seven-time Formula 1 world champion.

"It's a terrible situation for Mick and Corinna," says Jordan, "It's been almost ten years and Corinna can't go to any party, lunch, anywhere, she's like a prisoner, because everyone wants to talk to her about Michael every time, every minute."
Schumacher once described his wife, now 54, as his "guardian angel" and that she watches over him and protects him from all the noise around him.
Corinna has avoided talking publicly about her husband, but she shed some light on her struggles in a documentary about his life that aired in 2022.
"Michael is here. He's different, but he's here, and that gives us strength," Corina said, "We're together. We live together at home. We're doing treatments. We're doing everything to make Michael better and make sure he's comfortable. And just make him feel like family Ours, our relationship.
"And no matter what, I will do everything I can. We all will. We try to continue as a family, as Michael loved and still loves it. And we continue with our lives. It is very important to me that he can continue to enjoy his private life as much as possible. Michael has always protected us , and now we are protecting Michael."

One of the few who had visits with Schumacher was former FIA president Jean Todt, who revealed in May 2021 that he visits the German twice a month.
In a rare interview about Schumacher, Todt claimed that the German is "in the best hands" with the medical team working at his home.
Schumacher is one of the most successful F1 drivers of all time, having won seven titles as world champion - 1994, 1995, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004. His son Mick is now a reserve driver at Mercedes.
In 2019, the Schumacher family issued an update on his 50th birthday, assuring his millions of fans that they were doing "everything humanly possible" to help him recover.
According to expert neurologists, it is doubtful that the racing legend will ever make a full recovery.
