Josie Canesco, the daughter of baseball star Jose Canesco, claims that she really did not grow up with a spoonful of gold in her mouth as the daughter of a millionaire star, and in fact her father went bankrupt, lost all his money and did not give her financial help.
Josie Canesco, a 26-year-old model who has walked the runway for luxury brands Victoria's Secret and Moschino, is coming head-on with all those who claim she grew up as a spoiled child in a rich home, saying that "the family's money disappeared" when she was 6 or 7 years old.

"Everyone claims that I came from a home with all this rich money because I am 'Conseco'," the model wrote, "My 'family money' disappeared when I was 6-7 in bankruptcy. I had to hold back and hold myself not only to keep the 'family name' ' mine but also to pay my bills, because no one paid it but me."
Jose Canseco — who reportedly earned more than $40 million in his 17-year MLB career — filed for bankruptcy in 2012.
"My family is broken and I don't have any of the benefits of a family that was rich," said Josie, the blonde beauty, who recalled being in debt for "years" - barely earning $100 a week while living in small New York apartments crowded with other models.
"I was tired of my catalog, when in reality it was very different," said Josie.

In January 2021, Josie said that she and her father were not on speaking terms, after the former baseball player teased Logan Paul, who was her boyfriend at the time, on Twitter, and wanted a fight with him.
"I have no idea if he's kidding," Josie said, adding that she blocked her father because he "was so selfishly embarrassing ... I told him that, and he said, 'I'm a grown man, you don't tell me what I can say and what I can't say'".
Josie and Paul split in February 2021.
