The DFB and Rudi Völler have decided to wear a black, red and gold bandage in the future.
The One Love bandage is history.
Frankfurt – Thomas Müller wore them.
Just like Manuel Neuer and Ilkay Gündogan.
Yes, even Mesut Özil has already appeared with the captain's armband in black, red and gold.
On Saturday against Peru, the national colors will celebrate their comeback on Joshua Kimmich's arm - suggested by sporting director Rudi Völler.
The much-discussed one-love bandage is history.
Fan favorite Niclas Füllkrug thinks the decision is a good one, but not every observer, especially from the fan scene, applauds.
How you do it, you do it wrong.
DFB officials should feel something like this at the moment.
When the association agreed on One Love in September 2022, there was a lot of dissatisfaction.
cheat bandage, the critics shouted!
After all, she was just a tired imitation of the actual rainbow tie.
Small insertion at this point: Women's captain Alexandra Popp has always worn the "real" and still does.

AfD supports Völler's and the DFB's binding decision
At the start of the World Cup in Qatar, the one-love message suddenly developed into a great revolutionary gesture - also because many other nations did without it.
The DFB also backed down and – rightly so – received a lot of criticism.
You were to blame for this yourself, President Bernd Neuendorf and Oliver Bierhoff acted too hesitantly and intransparently.
When Völler came around the corner with the black-red-gold idea a few days ago, the AfD cheered (thanks, Rudi!) - the ex-national coach really couldn't do anything about it.
Firstly, that was not his intention and secondly, you can show openness, diversity and respect in many ways and not just through a bandage, which in the beginning was only good as a fig leaf anyway.
In his argument, however, Völler makes things too easy for himself.
He understands that "from time to time a sign" has to be set.
But now it should only be about football again.

DFB misses chance and makes the same mistakes as before
To depoliticize yourself in this way is weak and wrong.
An example: The current DFB squad includes Serge Gnabry, Armel Bella Kotchap, Josha Vagnoman, Mergim Berisha, Emre Can, Kevin Schade, Malick Thiaw and Felix Nmecha - all German players with a migration background.
The missing Antonio Rüdiger, Ilkay Gündogan, Leroy Sané or Jamal Musiala also shape the team - and that's a good thing.
But the DFB, as the largest national sports association in the world, should also clearly show the corresponding values to the outside world - after all, footballers are still big idols.
