After a five-week break, the Lechstadt team, who are already crowned champions of the Mitte district, defeated TSV Mindelheim II 24:23 (11:11).
"We noticed the break in the game, the limited training and also a few cases of illness," said TSV coach Rene Finsterwalder after the difficult home win against the Allgäu team.
In the first leg there was also only a wafer-thin victory with a one-goal advantage.
"Because of the absences, some A youth players helped out, who took over the game and did a great job," Finsterwalder praised the talents Marco Hickl, Markus Hepke and Elias Baldauf.

In the game, the Schongauers slept through the start completely.
After seven minutes the deficit was three goals (2:5).
As a result, the hosts were mostly behind, shortly before the break they managed to equalize 11:11.
Last but not least, goalkeeper Jonas Schneider, "who delivered a great performance over the 60 minutes", played a major role in the favorable result for Schongau, according to Finsterwalder.

In the second half, the Schongauer started as sluggishly as in the first.
It only got better after Finsterwalder made a few changes.
"There was almost a youth team on the pitch together with the experienced Timo May," reported the coach.
The rejuvenated Schongau squad took control of the game and developed a lead.
Three minutes before the end, the home side were finally four goals ahead (24:20).
"We then made it exciting again, but in the end we saved the victory at the finish line," Finsterwalder summed up.
