Summary: Bayer Leverkusen - Bayern Munich 1:2 (Sport1)
The news that rocked European football last night became official today (Friday).
After less than two years on the lines, Bayern Munich announced the dismissal of coach Julian Nagelsmann, and his replacement by Thomas Tuchel.
The shock comes at a particularly dramatic time, as next Saturday Bayern will meet Dortmund in the game of the season, trailing by a point in the championship race.
A week and a half after the classic, which will be Tuchel's first game in office against the former, the German champion will meet Manchester City for a battle of giants in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
The club was not satisfied with the development of the young players and the acquisition players under Nagelsmann, and were surprised that the coach went on a ski vacation in Austria while the team had to work and prepare for the Classic.
Nagelsmann was left disappointed because while he traveled to Austria to "gain renewed energy" for the rest of the season, Bayern had already closed with a new coach.

Another reason for the dismissals is that the Bavarians did not want to miss Tuchel, and knew that in order to land him at the Allianz Arena they would have to act quickly.
Tuchel received interest from a number of clubs in Europe and even refused an offer from Paris Saint-Germain because, for him, there were only two options on the table - Bayern Munich or Real Madrid, whose coaching position may become vacant this summer, and the Germans had to hurry.
The coach signed a contract until 2025.
For Nagelsmann, the current season was the second at Bayern Munich, when in the first he won the championship and was unexpectedly eliminated in the quarterfinals of the champions by Villarreal.
The promising 35-year-old coach arrived from Leipzig, whose release received the highest compensation of all time for a coach - 25 million euros.
Beyond the current season, Nagelsmann was signed to Bayern for three more years and Bayern will continue to pay him until he finds a new team.
