Bayern Munich surprisingly parted ways with Julian Nagelsmann.

An English club is probably already looking at the 35-year-old coach.

Munich – After less than two seasons, the Julian Nagelsmann chapter at Bayern is over.

After the 35-year-old was only ever promoted in his coaching career, he now has to deal with his first real leave of absence.

But the next lucrative job could soon follow, according to reports Nagelsmann could soon take up a coaching position in England.

As of now

Nagelsmann exemption: In the coaching career of the 35-year-old, things almost always went uphill

For Julian Nagelsmann, things have always been uphill in his career as a coach.

After the Landsberger had to end his playing career due to injury at the age of 20, he started out as a scout at his youth club FC Augsburg before becoming assistant coach of the U17s at his other youth club TSV 1860 Munich in the summer of 2008.

After two years with the Löwen, he went to TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.

After a year as assistant coach of the U17s at TSG, he was appointed head coach of the B-Junior Bundesliga team for the 2011/12 season.

After an interlude as an assistant to Bundesliga coaches Marco Kurz and Marcus Gidsol, he worked for Hoffenheim’s U19s for almost three years, with whom he became German champion in 2014.

In February 2016, TSG installed Nagelsmann as head coach in the middle of a relegation battle – at the record age of 28.

Nagelsmann recommended himself for an FCB job in Hoffenheim and Leipzig – now Tuchel follows him

He led Hoffenheim from the relegation zone to the Europa League and in the following season even to the Champions League, which is why he decided in the summer of 2019 to move up the career ladder.

For two years Nagelsmann worked as a coach of RB Leipzig, with the Saxons he reached the Champions League semifinals and the DFB Cup final, which he lost.

The move to FC Bayern followed in the summer of 2021.

The release from Bayern is the first real setback for Nagelsmann that he had to accept during his spotless career.

Nagelsmann will probably not like the fact that Thomas Tuchel should already have a successor.

But he could also see his leave of absence as an opportunity.

Possible coaching carousel?

Tottenham probably wanted Tuchel first, then Nagelsmann again

Tuchel apparently canceled Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur for the job as Bayern coach, as reported by Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.

Nagelsmann could now accommodate this, because the Bavaria quake also made waves internationally.

According to a report, Tottenham are still desperately looking for a new coach – and have Nagelsmann in their sights.

As the British newspaper

Evening Standard

reports, Tottenham Hotspur are said to have been "on alert" to sign Julian Nagelsmann since last night.

The employment relationship with the current coach Antonio Conte is already considered to have failed, which is why the north Londoners are working hard to find a successor.

Conte is said to be resigning during the international break.

Nagelsmann is not the first time Spurs have focused on him, Tottenham is said to have been interested in him as early as 2021 – when the then Leipzig coach decided to go to FCB.

At that time he should have inherited José Mourinho.

Now the Premier League club is hoping for a commitment at the second attempt.
