Danny Avdia had one of the best games of his career on Friday, as he delivered
21 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists
in Washington's win over San Antonio.
In the absence of Bradley Beal and Kyle Kuzma, the Israeli got more opportunities to manage the attacks, and it shows.
In the United States they checked and found that Avdia was involved in 102 pick and roll moves this season (as the creator, not as a blocker) - a record figure in his young career.
Last year he was involved in 98 such moves, and in his rookie season in only 25.
Only four players on the Wizards managed more pick-and-rolls this season, but when it comes to efficiency - Abadiah's pick-and-rolls lead, on average, to 0.76 points per possession - the worst figure on the team.
"However, Avdia found sparks in these situations, and that's why Wes Anseld returns to them," NBC said.
"Avdia has good instincts around blocks, and in passing to teammates. In the last eight games of the season, he will probably get more opportunities for pick and rolls."
An encouraging figure.

The Israeli's main partner in the blocking role in the last games was Daniel Gafford.
"Me and Gaff had a good connection last season as well," Abdia said.
"At the end of last season we ran a lot of pick and rolls. I understand how he blocks, I studied his game. He is a great athlete and knows how to roll to the basket."
Another improvement in Avdia's game recently comes from more touches on the ball in the paint area.
"I like to play with color," he said.
"In Europe I had a lot of post-ups, I managed the game from the paint, this style is very familiar to me. When I have a low defender on me, I see the whole floor."
Despite these words, Avdia made only ten post-ups this season.
"He can improve in this area, and in all other areas," NBC wrote.
"When Washington's chances for the playoffs are getting smaller and smaller, it's time to try."
