Moritz Hoffmeyer was the only SGO swimmer at the "Bavarian" in Bayreuth.
His conclusion was mixed.
Masters athlete Kim Jasmin Lauterbach was successful.
Penzberg – Bavarian championships are among the highlights in the competition calendar for swimmers from the local region.
Recently there were two such title fights in which athletes from SG Oberland-Penzberg took part.
Moritz Hoffmeyer swims his personal best in Bayreuth
Moritz Hoffmeyer is very ambitious.
And that's why the Weilheimer was not completely happy, although he had set a personal best time over 50 meters backstroke at the Bavarian championship in Bayreuth.
The SGO swimmer beat his previous record in the 50-meter pool by six tenths of a second and hit after 30.22 seconds.
"Actually a good time," says Hoffmeyer.
However, the remarkable performance was not enough to achieve his second goal: entering the final in the open classification.
"I was just hoping for more," revealed the 17-year-old.
Hoffmeyer (born 2005) swam "a spirited race" in the SVB indoor pool, as stated in a statement.
He had secretly toyed with the idea of being able to undercut the 30-second mark.
That remains a goal for the coming competitions.
In the open ranking, in which Hoffmeyer competed, he finished 20th out of 31 athletes – a respectable result.
To take part in the final, he would have had to swim a time well under 30 seconds in advance.

Last October, at the state championships on the short course (25 meters), Hoffmeyer reached the final over the 50 meters backstroke in the open ranking.
Then as now in Bayreuth, Maximilian Hagl (born 2005) from SC Delphin Ingolstadt was at the top of the podium.
The favorite was already the fastest in the run-up (27.29) and won the final with the top eight by a clear margin with 27.15 seconds.
Back specialist Hagl also won gold over 100 meters (57.61) and silver over 200 meters (2:10.15).
Jonas Schneider (29.57) from TV Immenstadt became Bavarian champion of the youth class (born 2007 to 2013) over the 50 meter backstroke.
Despite everything, "the competition was fun," reported Moritz Hoffmeyer.
"It's really great and an experience to be part of the Bavarian championships." The high school student would have liked to start on other routes, but he didn't have the so-called mandatory times for them.
The strict time specifications were one reason why the number of participants with 320 women and men was rather small for such a large competition.
Katharina Rath (born 2006) and Luisa Fiehne (born 2006) also qualified for Bayreuth from the ranks of SG Oberland-Penzberg, but they could not go to Upper Franconia due to school commitments.
Kim Jasmin Lauterbach gets the complete set of medals
Participation in the international Bavarian short course masters championship in Munich was really worthwhile for Kim Jasmin Lauterbach (born in 1998).
The SGO Penzberg swimmer traveled home with a complete set of medals (gold, silver, bronze).
She herself was "fundamentally satisfied" with her performances on four routes.
The times she swam "were okay for my current level of training, but not great," says Lauterbach.
Athletes over the age of 20 are considered “Masters” in swimming.
More than 300 men and women from different federal states and even from Austria came to compete on the 25-meter track in the Giesing-Harlaching indoor pool.
"In itself a very nice event," reported Lauterbach.
"However, organizationally there was still room for improvement."

The SGO swimmer won her gold medal in the 100 meter individual medley.
With a time of 1:12.36 minutes, she left all other eleven competitors in the "25 age group" (25 to 29 years) behind.
However, the fight for gold was very exciting: in the end, Lauterbach was just a hundredth of a second ahead of second, Nadine Königer (SC Landshut).
In the open ranking, the SGO athlete took an impressive fifth place among 52 women with her time.

Lauterbach won the silver medal in her age group in the 100 meter butterfly with a time of 1:10.32 minutes.
The gap to gold wasn't too big - it was only 16 hundredths.
Lauterbach had a lead of around two and a half seconds on the third-placed.
In the overall standings, the former SV 1921 Bayreuth swimmer finished seventh.
According to the SVB website, she still holds a club record over 100 meters breaststroke (1:13.69/on the 25 meter track).

Lauterbach made the medal set in Munich perfect with a third place in the 50 meter freestyle.
At this distance, she struck after 29.17 seconds.
The gap to the second was 16 hundredths of a second.
Gold went to Stefanie Herzog (28.50) from SG Frankenhöhe.

Lauterbach just missed another medal: She finished fourth in the 50m butterfly with a time of 32.08 seconds.
The gap to the third, Annike Märthe Scheltz (TV Kempten), was only nine hundredths of a second.
