Dahlmeier/Pomper in tenth place at the Adamello Ski Raid

On March 25, 2023, the eighth edition of the race at Passo Tonale took place, which this year was also declared as the long-distance world championship in ski mountaineering.

A total of 17 couples competed in the women's competition, with the French Axelle Morallet and Emily Harrop securing victory.

Two German teams were also there.

Laura Dahlmeier and Martina Pomper took tenth place, Jacqueline Brandl and Maria Hüber ended up in 13th place.

Dahlmeier thanks Pomper via Instagram

After the race, the German biathlon icon thanked her companion with a post on Instagram.

The first photo shows Dahlmeier and Pomper a few moments after crossing the finish line in Ponte di Legno, two other snapshots show the two during the race.

“Spontaneously run a ski touring race?

Adamello Ski Raid with 41 km and 3300 hm in ascent?

At the same time this year, the long-distance world championships... Thank you Martina for your immediate and motivated commitment,” writes Dahlmeier under the article that she published on Sunday evening.

Dahlmeier/Pomper already there in 2021

The seven-time biathlon world champion was also happy that they were able to finish the race together.

However, one of the Italian teams did not make it to the finish.

Although the duo Dahlmeier/Pomper was almost two hours behind the winning team from France, that didn't detract from the joy.

“It was a tough, wild, beautiful and above all very impressive race for us.

In addition to the sporting performance, we are above all very grateful to have arrived at the finish line," says the rest of the post.

Incidentally, for Dahlmeier, who announced the end of her career in biathlon in May 2019, it was not her first participation in the Adamello Ski Raid.

She also contested the race with Pomper in 2021, when she finished eighth.
