Mons Davor retired from the Israel national team in the summer of 2022 after the storm of the post on Instagram and the boos he heard from the audience in Israel.

In an interview he gave today (Tuesday) to the Swiss media, he admitted that "the last two years have not been easy for me, that's why I decided to retire. Of course I would be happy to receive more recognition for my eight years in the national team, but I accept everything that happened."

He said about his less good time in Hoffenheim recently and the injury he suffered: "Physically, I feel better than ever, feel more experienced. The injury made everything worse, I was very sad, I couldn't digest the fact that I was at his peak and absent for two months."

Davor also recalled his excellent days at the Grasshoppers: "For the first time in my life, I saw snow. I felt very comfortable there, from the beginning, everyone welcomed me with open arms. Of course it helped that I scored a lot of goals at a fairly quick stage."
