Concern for Rudi Völler: DFB sports director Monday evening in the hospital
In the meantime, however, the all-clear had been given.
Völler is free of symptoms and is recovering at home.
However, the 62-year-old will not be able to follow the international match against Belgium on Tuesday evening (8.45 p.m. in the live ticker) at the stadium in Cologne.
A Völler interview caused a stir on Monday.
The 1990 world champion has been sports director at the DFB since the beginning of the year.
He succeeds Oliver Bierhof, who resigned as managing director after the Qatar World Cup debacle.
A task force initially raised Völler to his post.
"Aunt Käthe" will be in charge of the sporting fortunes of the DFB until the 2024 home European Championship.
Who follows after that is still in the stars.

Rudi Völler misses Belgium game: DFB sports director suffers from kidney colic
Recently, Völler has been on the road a lot, met with many Bundesliga managers and exchanged ideas.
Together with national coach Hansi Flick, he kept many appointments.
He sat in the stands at the start of the year for the senior national team against Peru (2-0) and for the U21s' 2-2 win against Japan.
Now, however, bed rest and a little break are the order of the day.
The next official international matches are not due until June.
By then, Völler should have recovered.
