The epic 5:15 battle won by the Spaniard in the heart of the New York night in the quarterfinals of the US Open 2022 had particularly marked the spirits.
Not long ago, in Indian Wells, the phenomenon Alcaraz again dominated his Italian rival and prevented him from playing a second final in a Masters 1000 after Miami 2021. Despite a third defeat in five duels against the new world number 1, Jannik Sinner, 21, recalled that he too embodied the future of world tennis.
