In recent years, awareness has begun to be raised for non-profit organizations, organizations and social events with the arrival of football players on the grass in games around the world.
During a match in the Dutch league between Excelsior and Cambor, the local team promoted the "One Love" campaign that deals with the promotion of human rights, the fight against racism, discrimination and the gay community, with a sign of the campaign in the colors of the pride flag.
For one Excelsior player who refused to be photographed with the sign, it came up in the captain's film.
Radwan El Yacoubi, the captain of the local team, refused to take a picture next to the campaign sign with the rest of his players, just before the opening whistle in the game in which they won 1:4.
The sign read "Against Hate and Discrimination" in Dutch, and with the colors of the gay community, the defensive player with the ribbon on his hand decided to distance himself from his teammates.

The Dutch club announced after the game: "Raduane made an individual choice. He wanted to give a message in his own way and he proves every day that he knows how to do it with the association he promotes himself. Not standing next to the 'One Love' sign caused a lot of noise and misunderstanding. Therefore, The club decided together with the player that he will no longer be the captain of the team, this is so that he and the club can feel more free and comfortable in the role - each to his own."
The 27-year-old defender who joined Excelsior in 2021 accepted the club's decision, will continue with the Dutch team, but it will be interesting to see the reaction of other teams and the Dutch league itself to such a move.
