Tennis: Rybakina dismisses Pegula and goes to the final in Miami

Kazakh Elena Rybakina, 7th in the world and recent winner in Indian Wells, dismissed American Jessica Pegula 7-6 (7-3), 6-4 on Thursday to reach the final of the Miami tournament.

Rybakina was first hooked by the world number 3 in the first set, won in the tiebreak, before overturning a second set in which she was trailing 4-2.

In the final, she will challenge Czech Petra Kvitova, who earlier eliminated Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova in a weather-delayed quarter-final (6-4, 3-6, 6-3), or Romania's Sorana Cirstea.
