Munich – The classic between FC Bayern and Borussia Dortmund already offers enough sporting explosiveness.

But even before the top game in the Bundesliga, scraps flew on the sidelines.

FCB boss Oliver Kahn and Sky expert Lothar Matthäus fought in front of the camera.

Matthäus was given a run-in by his former team-mate, and at half-time he countered in a publicized manner in the media – it was about the dismissal of Tuchel predecessor Julian Nagelsmann.

FC Bayern vs BVB: Lothar Matthäus and Oliver Kahn bicker in a live interview

Before FC Bayern's 4-2 win over BVB, Oliver Kahn answered questions on Sky.

Moderator Sebastian Hellmann spoke to the FCB CEO about the unfortunate release of ex-coach Julian Nagelsmann and the "Mia san mia" that Lothar Matthäus missed as a result.

As a reminder: Nagelsmann found out about his dismissal through the media.

Kahn reacted extremely irritated and bickered with Matthäus in the live interview, who quickly gave in.

The manner in which Nagelsmann was fired was a "disaster", admitted Kahn.

He contacted Nagelsmann and informed him of the decision as soon as possible.

However, this was initially not possible because Nagelsmann was on a skiing holiday in the Zillertal.

Kahn didn't want to deliver the message on the phone, that's not FC Bayern's style.

Matthew does not believe this and accuses Kahn of lying.

"I know that Oliver Kahn is lying!" Matthäus said at halftime to

.

Hard allegations against the Bayern boss.

“Oliver Kahn just wants to distract from his problems and then he attacks me.

But I was prepared for that.”

"He didn't even answer Sebastian Hellmann's question.

I only say what I hear, see and feel.

The chronological sequence, as described by Kahn, does not fit together," said Matthäus.

Hellmann had asked Kahn why the trainer could not be informed of the dismissal early on.

Matthäus reveals Nagelsmann's dismissal – Management had no contact with FC Bayern

“Bayern has long been clear with Tuchel.

That's why it was leaked from Italy.

And if I can't reach Julian Nagelsmann by phone while on vacation, I'll just drive to him in South Tyrol and talk to him there," Matthäus rumbled.

"I know a lot of people close to FC Bayern that Oliver might not know.

And found out how it went.”

In line with Matthäus' remarks, Nagelsmann's management released a statement: "There was no contact and no attempt by Bayern to make contact.

Julian Nagelsmann's management itself called Hasan Salihamidzic after the various rumors from the media."

If that's actually true, Kahn is probably not telling the truth.

Salihamidzic puts Kahn "hand in the fire" and contradicts Nagelsmann management

Kahn received support from sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic: "Oliver Kahn was absolutely telling the truth.

And I'll put my hand in the fire for that!"

"That's not the case," Brazzo contradicted the Nagelsmann management on Saturday in the mixed zone of the Allianz Arena.

"As soon as we had Thomas Tuchel's commitment, I tried to reach Julian - once, twice, three times.

Then I called his management.

And then I called Julian again and reached him."

A mud fight seems to be brewing between FC Bayern, Matthäus and the Nagelsmann side.
