The Real Madrid player, Vinicius Jr, 22, has stated that he was offended by the racist shouting he received last February in the League match that was held at the Son Moix stadium.
The player appeared this Tuesday as a victim in the case opened in the investigative court number 3 of Palma as a result of a complaint filed by the League after the racist insults that the player received in the field of Real Mallorca last February.
Sources present in the statement have explained that the player has said that he did not hear the screams at that moment on the field.
But he has acknowledged feeling offended by them, when he found out through the media that he had been the victim of racist insults.
Despite the fact that he is not a person in the process, the judge has summoned him to testify as an aggrieved party.
During the statement, which lasted around half an hour by videoconference, Vinicius Jr pointed out that the situation in the Son Moix field is similar to that of other fields in Spain.
The player has stated that he does not give up taking action against the alleged author of the screams.
After Vinicius Jr, it was the turn of the alleged perpetrator of the events, who went to court wearing sunglasses, a hood and a mask to avoid being recognized.
During his half-hour appearance, he has acknowledged being the author of the screams, although he has tried to downplay the racist component.
Judicial sources indicate that he has asked for forgiveness and has shown his repentance.
Agents of the Citizen Security Brigade of the National Police of the Balearic Islands began an investigation last February into the events that occurred during the match.
The investigation made it possible to identify a young man, who answers to the initials of SET and is 21 years old, as the alleged author of the insults.
He was located thanks to the recordings of several cameras located in the stadium.
The permanent commission of the State Commission against Violence, Racism, Xenophobia and Intolerance in Sport proposed a penalty of 4,000 euros and a ban on accessing sports venues for twelve months for the person investigated for insulting Vinicius.
This same Real Mallorca fan was also proposed for a sanction for the insults uttered during the match at Son Moix against Villarreal two weeks later.
