It's over, FC Bayern Munich is out of the cup.

After the last-minute slap in the neck, Munich can no longer force a chance and now have to digest the very bitter end of the DFB Cup.

Jamal Musiala and Joshua Kimmich can't hold back their tears, on the other hand Freiburg celebrates.

Certainly happy for the Breisgauer, who defended their own goal with man and mouse for a long time.

The fact that Bayern's offensive played a part in the defeat is also reflected in the players' grades.

FC Bayern Munich - SC Freiburg 1: 2 (1: 1)

90 minutes +5: TOR for Freiburg!

Höler takes the penalty kick and stays cold.

Sommer is on his way to the left corner he sees, Höler humorlessly slams the thing halfway right under the crossbar.

Last-minute shock: Referee Osmers gives a penalty against Bayern

90 minutes + 3: Penalty for Freiburg!

The free kick has consequences.

Bayern can't get the ball out of the box and in the end Höfler pulls away, hitting Musiala's arms.

Clear number: penalty.

Pavard then sees yellow because he wants to damage the penalty spot.

90th minute +2:

Gulde comes to a standstill after an aerial duel with Mané.

The Joker sees yellow and Freiburg gets a free kick.

90 minutes:

There are three minutes on top.

But at the moment it seems as if at least 30 more will follow.

89 minutes:

Gnabry with the chance!

The offensive man is used with a high ball and tries it directly from a sharp angle in front of the goal.

Just over, Flekken can only watch.

85 minutes:

There are still five minutes to go.

Can Bayern still get the lucky punch before it goes into extra time?

Freiburg is now providing more liberation again.

83 minutes:

Excitement about Upamecano.

A long shot from Flekken reaches Gregoritsch, who is hooked by Upamecano and falls to the ground.

The referee decides on yellow and is probably right.

Tuchel goes for a win in regular time: Mané comes on for Goretzka

79 minutes:

Sadio Mané comes on for Goretzka.

Apparently, Tuchel wants to win in regular time.

76 minutes:

While a relief attack by Freiburg, which has now become rare, fizzles out, Sadio Mané gets ready on the FCB bench.

Tuchel will probably follow up on the offensive soon.

73 minutes:

Sané shows what he can do.

He leaves two, three, four Freiburgers behind on his way into the penalty area, but in the end he too gets his shot caught on an SCF leg.

72 minutes:

After a few hectic minutes, Bayern midfield tries to calm the game down and take control of it.

But Freiburg, which has now completely sealed itself off, defends with everything it has and has successfully done so up to this point.

68 minutes:

The two substitutes fit in really well, but aren't able to finish decisively either.

Meanwhile, Streich also changes: Sallai comes for Grifo.

64 minutes:

Thomas Tuchel makes a double change.

Gnabry and Musiala come into play for Choupo-Moting and Coman.

Müller should thus slip into the storm center, whose position Musiala will take over.

After a Kimmich free kick: Pavard only hits the bar

62 minutes: Pavard lets the bar tremble!

Kimmich takes the following free kick sharply and briefly into the penalty area, where Pavard slides the ball over the top of the head.

Only the crossbar prevents the ball from hitting the ground.

62 minutes:

Sildillia sees yellow, which clears the strong Cancello on the sidelines.

61 minutes:

The Tuchel team slows down a bit, which they can afford to do, as Freiburg acts far too imprecisely in front of Yann Sommer, especially in the last third.

On the other hand, FCB keeps developing danger from fast counterattacks.

56 minutes:

Bayern lulls Freiburg to safety, only to start a quick counterattack via Sané.

But he's alone, or he can't serve the Choupo-Moting, who is standing on the sidelines.

The chance is gone.

53 minutes:

After de Ligt only knows how to help himself with a foul against Doan, Grifo is ready for a free kick.

But even if he finds a Freiburger, the header doesn't have enough power.

No problem for summer.

50 minutes:

Now it's Bayern's turn again.

A sensitive cross from Müller, however, finds no buyer who can bring the ball in the direction of the housing.

48 minutes:

Then Freiburg puts the forward gear.

After Doan was freed in the middle before the sixteen, his shot gets stuck.

Bayern can clear the following corner without any problems.

46 minutes:

It goes on and Bayern are already scratching the lead again!

A deep pass from Kimmich to Sané, however, reaches him offside.

Break: After the Müller chance there is a break.

What a big thing from Müller, who should have shot his colors in the lead with the final whistle of the first half.

Otherwise, Bayern clearly have the say here, but they have to thank Kölner Keller for not intervening in Upamecano's goal.

The Freiburger Höfler countered the lead with a goal painted like a brutalist painting.

Müller misses a great opportunity: Freiburg defender saves from the line

45 minutes +2:

Now Müller forgives the thousand percent!

A cross from the right is cleared by Flekken in front of Müller's feet, who pushes past the already beaten goalkeeper, but then fails to hit a Freiburg defender who knocks the ball out two meters from the goal line.

45 minutes:

The monster chance for Bayern leadership!

Upamecano drives the ball forward after conquering it, uses Müller, who decides to play it in the middle instead of completing it himself.

Choupo-Moting reaches the ball, easily deflected by Flekken but would have been offside anyway.

42 minutes:

Freiburg is gaining more and more self-confidence, also because the Reds are withdrawing a bit here.

However, the Bayern defense is solid and leaves nothing to burn behind.

38 minutes:

Despite the 1-1 draw, FC Bayern clearly sets the tone.

Above all Sané, who combines with Choupo-Moting in the sixteen of the SCF, but then gets stuck on a defender.

35 minutes:

Yellow card for Gregoritsch, who clears Sané in midfield.

Then it's back to Flekken, but a conclusion doesn't really want to succeed.

33 minutes:

Sané again.

This time it is he who lurks in the middle, but the half-high pass to the near post can no longer steer it towards the goal.

In the end, only the outside net wriggles.

31 minutes:

It's going to be quick here.

FCB reacted angrily to the goal they conceded, but even a series of corners didn't lead to success.

The last one gets de Ligt on the slippers, but sets it too high.

Flekken does not have to intervene.

Höfler with the dream goal: Sommer powerless in the FCB goal

27 minutes: The compensation!

The Bayern defense just can't get the ball away from behind and so the ball lands on Höfler, who hits the thing in the corner with his weak left foot from 20 meters.

25 minutes:

Now Freiburg with the first goal.

In the second attempt it is Grifo who brings the ball up in front of the goal and finds Gregoritsch there.

He does worse than Upamecano and safely heads into Summer's arms.

23 minutes:

Freiburg swims.

Again and again, deep passes from the Bayern half find FCB strikers running through, but also due to offside positions, no profit can be made from them.

Bayern meets controversial: Upamecano goal remains

19 minutes: TOOOOOR FOR FC BAYERN!!!!

Upamecano does the thing!

A corner from Kimmich is found by Upamecano, who climbs up and heads the ball into the box.

Freiburg complained, but the referee waves it away.

In fact, Upamecano supported himself with a lot of physical effort, but the goal remains.

18 minutes:

Gnabry is still stretching next to Yann Sommer's goal, but the offensive player doesn't seem imminent.

More of a precaution.

15 minutes:

The FCB defense survives a short period of ball possession by the Freiburg team without any problems.

In the end it is Pavard who clears a guest throw-in from the danger zone.

12 minutes:

Sané just wide!

From the left, he pulls into the middle and then finishes flat from a half-left position.

The ball rushes a few centimeters past the near post.

10 minutes:

The Reds have a short power play, which ends with a foul on Freiburg's Doan.

Previously, Sané failed with a sharp cross from the left, which, however, only found a Breisgauer.

8 minutes:

But now there is a Freiburger on the lawn.

Goretzka comes too late against Höfler, who therefore takes a hit.

But after a short break we continue.

Sané probably with problems: Gnabry is warming up

5th minute:

Is it possible that a Bayern player went into the game with an injury?

Serge Gnabry is already warming up, Sané probably has problems.

4 minutes:

Bayern pass the ball to each other on defense, only to switch quickly, but both Doan and Sildillia are wary.

2nd minute:

Bayern's first approach to the goal.

Choupo-Moting and Coman combine in the middle with a one-two.

Choupo-Moting's chip on Goretzka, who had run through, was a bit too long and Freiburg now repels.

1st minute:

The ball is running!

Freiburg pushes and immediately shifts into forward gear.

But Yann Sommer can pick up the long ball.

Update, 8:44 p.m .:

The players line up and greet the fans.

Christian Günther and Thomas Müller approach the referee, Müller wins the seat selection and remains standing.

Update, 8.40 p.m .:

Only five minutes left and the ball will roll in the Allianz Arena.

Do Bayern start as furiously as they did against BVB or can the double Freiburg back four stop the hosts?

Tuchel: Davies bank place has "nothing to do with performance"

Update, 8:20 p.m .:

25 minutes left until kick-off.

Thomas Tuchel comments on his change in the line-up on the Sky microphone.

The removal of Alphonso Davies "had nothing to do with performance" but rather with load management.

Davies is the last Bayern player to return from the international break ahead of the BVB game and deserves a break.

Update, 7.50 p.m .:

The list of guests from Freiburg has now been received.

Like his opponent, Christian Streich also makes a change in the starting eleven.

Central defender Kenneth Schmidt is replaced by offensive power Michael Gregoritsch.

The Freiburgers are probably switching to a back four and are thus operating with two central offensives.

FC Bayern against Freiburg: Cancelo starts for Davies

Update, 7:35 p.m .:

The FC Bayern line-up is here!

Thomas Tuchel makes a change compared to the 4-2 win against Borussia Dortmund: João Cancelo starts for Alphonso Davies.

Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting, who, as a precaution, did not train on Monday, is in the starting XI.

Update, 7:15 p.m .:

The fans of both clubs still have to wait half an hour until the line-ups for the DFB Cup quarter-finals are announced.

While Bayern fans will almost certainly see the same line-up as against BVB, more could happen at Freiburg.

It is possible that Christian Streich, who said on the matchday PK that a "sensation" was necessary, will make some changes in the starting XI.

Also because his team did not show their best side against Hertha BSC (1-1) last matchday.

Bayern against SC Freiburg in the DFB Cup: three days after defeating Dortmund

First report from April 4th:

Munich - Three days after the brilliant Tuchel debut against Borussia Dortmund, FC Bayern expects the next task: On Tuesday evening, Munich welcome SC Freiburg to the DFB Cup quarter-finals.

The guests have had a strong season so far and are in the midst of the fight for a place in the Champions League in the Bundesliga.

While the German record champions are initially all sunshine again in sporting matters, the release of Julian Nagelsmann polarizes incessantly.

Above all, FCB President Herbert Hainer and Oliver Kahn, Chairman of the Board, should hardly complain about the sporting distraction caused by the cup game.

FC Bayern against SC Freiburg in the DFB Cup: Signs speak for the record champions

FC Bayern Munich didn't get a dream lot with Freiburg in the quarter-finals.

The Breisgauer have played a stable season so far and are rightly fourth in the table, seven points behind the Munich team.

However, there was a smack on the tenth matchday of the Bundesliga – opponents in the 5-0 defeat: FCB.

Even if you only look at the cup season, there is a clear advantage in favor of the home side.

While Freiburg had to go into extra time against the second division teams 1. FC Kaiserslautern and St. Pauli (each 2:1 a.e.t.) and in the round of 16 victory against SV Sandhausen (2:0) only in the 87th minute did the redeeming first goal was scored, Bayern marched through the cup.

Against Viktoria Cologne (5:0), FC Augsburg (5:2) and Mainz 05 (0:4) the Munich team only showed nerves once, but the 0:1 deficit at FCA in the meantime was not a problem either.

FC Bayern versus SCF in the DFB Cup: Tuchel relies on a well-rehearsed axis

Incidentally, Sven Ulreich guarded the FCB goal when they beat Freiburg in the first half of the Bundesliga season.

Without getting too far out of hand, however, it's fair to say that that won't be the case in today's game.

Winter newcomer and new representative Yann Sommer is set in goal and Thomas Tuchel will probably not cause any surprises in his starting eleven.

Already at the press conference in the run-up to the cup game, it became clear that the same starting XI as against Borussia Dortmund would be given the confidence.

Tuchel has already brought up a "desirable" axis that should steer FCB's game.

This means Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka and Thomas Müller, who should by no means rest on their laurels, according to Tuchel.
