German biathlon hopeful Luise Müller is giving up the gun and retiring with immediate effect.
Pirna – The biathlon sport in Germany loses a great talent, because Luise Müller ends her active career with immediate effect.
Until the end of her career, the 22-year-old from the Saxon club SV Grün-Weiß Pirna was regarded as a great hope for young talent in Germany.

“Everything has an end, only the sausage has two.
Last season I had a lot of time to reflect and decided to step out of the biathlon bubble.
I want to challenge my mind more and explore more of the world.
I also hope that the DSV will slowly wake up and make the broad promotion of young talent and modern training methods a priority," she said in a statement on her Instagram channel.
“I had a bonfortionous time.
Mainly because of the people I got to know.
People who can make me forget the seriousness of life with humor and warmth.
I hope I've done the opposite sometimes.
Thank you for every single moment,” Luise Müller continued.

In her Instagram post, she also clearly criticized the biathlon circus and gave other athletes a valuable tip: "Unfortunately, I've also met people for whom only athletic performance counts instead of people as personality.
Or trainers who have a completely distorted picture of training methods and the individuality of athletes.
So one more thing: Dear athletes, don't just start working through your training plan, but also acquire modern knowledge about your body and training!
The most important coach is you yourself.”

The greatest achievement of her career was winning the silver medal in the 4x6 km relay at the 2022 World Junior Championships in Soldier Hollow, USA.
Together with her teammates Johanna Puff, Mareike Braun and Lisa Spark, she only had to admit defeat to the world champion from Italy.

She also became Vice European Champion, also in the relay, and finished third overall at the IBU Junior Cup in the 2021/22 season.
