Summary: Southampton - Manchester City 4:1 (Sport1)
Before the fascinating match between Arsenal and Liverpool tomorrow (Sunday, 6:30 p.m., Sport1), Manchester City completed its task with a resounding 1:4 over Southampton.
Erling Holland returned from injury with a characteristic double on the way to 30 league goals in only 27 games, and the gap at the top narrowed to five points.
The Norwegian superstar reached 44 goals this season in all competitions.
He is now only five goals away from breaking the goalscoring records set by Andy Cole (1993/94) and Alan Shearer (1994/95) - 34 goals in one Premier League season.
At the end of the match, Pep Guardiola tried to compare his star in the same breath with Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo: "Arling is so competitive, but to reach them he has more work to do. They never get injured, for example. In terms of scoring goals, he is similar to Cristiano, but Leo is the more complete player. He can play anywhere, while Erling and Ronaldo are machines. The soccer world is in a better place thanks to Ronaldo and Messi, but Holland is at this level."
Kevin de Brauna also praised the champion striker, for whom he scored seven league goals this season.
"He scores a lot. He's crazy," said the Belgian midfielder, who scored 100 assists in the Premier League.
"If you create chances, he will be there. We have a good combination."
