The Chicago Bulls and Oklahoma City Thunder dreamed of becoming the first to advance to the playoffs through the play-in tournament tonight (between Friday and Saturday) after finishing 10th in the regular season, but succumbed outside to Miami and Minnesota, who kept the house and secured their place in the playoffs.

The runner-up of the Eastern Conference survived with a late run on the way to 91:102 over the Bulls and will meet Milwaukee in the first round, the Wolves will meet Denver after defeating the Thunder 95:120.

Strauss and Jimmy Butler led the Heat with 31 points, with Bam Adebayo approaching a double-double with only 8 points along with 17 rebounds. DeRozan's 26 points were not enough for the Bulls, who, despite the nice victory in Toronto, are ending a disappointing season for them.
