Ski star Albert Popov announces the birth of his daughter
The 25-year-old Bulgarian asked his longtime girlfriend Denitsa Mari to marry him last summer.
The engagement gave Popov so much impetus this winter that he increasingly caused a sensation in his special discipline slalom and even made it onto the World Cup podium for the first time in his winter sports career in a crazy race in Palisades Tahoe in the USA.
Now the 25-year-old announced the next sweet news to his fans on Instagram: "On yesterday's holiday we were able to welcome Kaya Albert Popova.
She weighs 3800g, is 52cm tall and is very charming.” He also provided a picture of the little girl's hand.
The post was posted on Easter Monday (April 10).

On Thursday (April 13), little Kaya was able to leave the hospital in the Bulgarian capital with Papa Albert Popov and Mama Denitsa Mari, as the 25-year-old also announced on Instagram.
A picture in front of the hospital shows the small, happy family.
Among the many well-wishers under the picture is alpine skiing colleague Aingeru Garay from Spain.
The 24-year-old commented with numerous emojis, including clapping hands and hearts.
Another fan wrote: "So cute".
This is little Kaya, truly.
In the next few months, Popov can now fully concentrate on his new role as a father before he tries again to attack the top places in the World Cup.

Ski ace Albert Popov suffered a severe blow of fate in 2015
Popov will certainly be very happy that things are going so well in sporting and personal terms.
Because in his past he had to accept a heavy blow of fate.
That was in November 2015. At that time he was on his way to Sölden with his trainer and assistant trainer when the car overturned.
Popov's coach was killed in the accident, the 25-year-old was in the passenger seat and seriously injured his ankle.
He worked his way back and is now one of the top riders in the World Cup - the birth of his daughter should give him additional momentum.
