The Grand Prix of the Americas race is being held at the Austin Circuit (United States).
The third stop of the premier category of the Motorcycle World Championship comes with Bezzecchi, winner of the last race in Termas de Río Hondo, as the leader of the MotoGP overall.
Bagnaia crashed when he was first and gave the lead to Álex Rins.
Three other Spaniards such as Álex Márquez, Aleix Espargaró, Jorge Martín and Joan Mir have abandoned the race after their falls.
Before the crash, the Italian Ducati rider started from
pole position
ahead of Rins and Marini.
He was fastest on Saturday, both in qualifying and in the sprint.
It is yet another race in which Marc Márquez is absent after his metacarpal fracture in the thumb of his right hand, due to his accident with Miguel Oliveira in the Portuguese GP.
