Kevin Möhwald apparently no longer plays a role in Union Berlin's plans.
In the current Bundesliga season, the former SV Werder Bremen professional has not once been in the match day squad.
A change in the summer is therefore very likely - is even a return to Bremen conceivable?
Berlin/Bremen
- "I'm still following Werder very closely.
If I can, I watch every game live," reveals
Kevin Möhwald
on the
DeichStube podcast show einDEICHt
and looks back on his move from SV Werder to Berlin in Bremen's relegation year 2021: "It was a very difficult decision.
Union approached me with the prospect of playing European and Bundesliga football.
In terms of the package, it was the best decision I could have made at the time.
But it was never a decision against
Werder Bremen
, but a decision in favor of the Union Berlin package.”
Change in summer?
Kevin Möhwald no longer plays a role at Union Berlin: "I have Werder Bremen in my heart"
Möhwald's expectations were
not met at
Union Berlin .
"With what I know now, I wouldn't make that decision again.
Last year's season was a bit disappointing for me.
I didn't get the playing times I was hoping for.
But I played there at least once, this season I didn't have a squad nomination to show for it," says Möhwald in the current episode of the
einDEICHt podcast
and sums up: "In the end, that's a wasted year."
As a result,
Kevin Möhwald
is flirting with a change of club.
"I'm going to do this through the summer and then I'll see what makes sense.
In any case, I don't want to have a year like that again," emphasizes the 29-year-old midfielder, who himself doesn't know where he's going: "I don't have any concrete plans yet.
There are always conversations, they also took place in winter.
The situation was already clear to me then.
But the right thing wasn't there yet.” With SV Werder, however, things went very well at the time.
“I only have good memories of Bremen, apart from the relegation.
I have the city and the club in my heart,” emphasizes Möhwald, who is planning a return to
SV Werder Bremen
can certainly imagine: "Of course Werder is always an option." (tst)
