Kayla Simmons, a former college volleyball star, is among the former athletes who have become well-known social media influencers.
Although she was previously told to delete her Instagram account during her studies, Simmons defied the instructions of the university administration, and reaped the rewards as a result: she now has almost a million followers, just thanks to her provocative photos and her athletic past.

She is 27 years old, born in Florida, attended Marshall University and played on the NCAA Tournament I volleyball team. During this time, Simmons regularly posted photos on social media and began to develop a large following.
"Sports in college was a great experience for me, but it also taught me some important lessons about life," she previously said, "I was told by the administrators of my university that the pictures I post were inappropriate because of my body, and I was even asked to delete my Instagram account at one point.
"I was torn because I felt I could not praise my body and play the sport I love.
I've since learned that you can't let other people affect how you feel about yourself.
I am who I am, and it's okay to be safe!".
Today she has 927 thousand followers, and in the gossip sections she is called "the sexiest volleyball player in the world", which is about the same as the case of former professional golfer Paige Spiraniak who is called "the sexy golfer", even though she is no longer a golfer.
However, despite not really being a professional, she has more followers than Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods, the biggest golf stars in the world.

The irony is that at the weekend Michaels held an online meeting with fans where she answered questions from surfers.
When asked if she had silicone breast implants, she answered: "I didn't put silicone! I'm all natural. I'm tired of answering that question, but yes, I didn't put anything."
According to her, "It's funny, because in high school I wanted to have a smaller chest, because I felt it hindered my development as a volleyball player, but my wish didn't come true... I feel that because of my chest, I can't jump too high, run as fast as I can, and that It hurts to land. Everything is harder."
