Dani Alves continues his attempts to prove his innocence in the rape case in which he has been accused for several months.
After last Monday he testified for the fifth time and admitted for the first time that he had full sexual relations with the complainant, her representatives began working on a new strategy, and therefore the footballer's lawyer built a new line of defense, the supporting evidence of which he presented last Thursday.
According to a report by the Spanish journalist Maika Navarro, Alves' attorney gave the judge a 200-page document and also documentation from the security cameras at the "Sutton" club, where the alleged sexual offense was committed.
The "El Periodico" newspaper added that the lawyer asked to release the Brazilian from prison on the grounds that there was no risk of escape, and even suggested that the judge set bail and confiscate his passports.
Navarro also claimed that the video, which is 12 minutes long, "shows the interaction between the victim and her companions, Alves and his friend Bruno."

While the complainant stated that she entered the bathroom because the footballer insisted, the latter's legal team emphasizes that the video shows them kissing and may prove that the sexual act was consensual.
Alves testified that the young woman claiming rape, her cousin and a common friend of both of them, who spent the same evening with him, he recognized at table 6 in the VIP area of the club, where he used to hang out regularly.
This is about a table where those spending time have access to the "suite" room, and the expectation that Alves will explain why the events happened in the bathroom and not in that room, if the young woman did agree to have relations with him.
The prosecution insists that the Brazilian chose a small space like the bathroom to force himself on the complainant, and that it is clear that he knew about the existence of that toilet cubicle, because it is located near the same suite that was available to him as a regular hangout at table 6.

What the footballer has not yet explained are the injuries and marks found on the complainant's body after the incident, and the fingerprints found in the club's bathroom, which support her version that the sexual act was forced on her.
Now, it remains to be seen if the judge will agree to release Alves from prison based on the new evidence presented.
In the past, the fear was raised that the Brazilian would flee the country in light of his economic prosperity and his origin in a country that does not have an extradition agreement with Spain.
