The first round of the NBA playoffs continues to provide plenty of drama and stories, and tonight (between Monday and Tuesday) may have been the game that everyone will remember.

Jimmy Butler recorded one of the greatest games in the history of the playoffs and brought Miami closer to a sensational qualification for the semifinals of the Eastern Conference at the expense of Milwaukee.

At this time the Lakers are hosting Memphis and are trying to take a 1:3 lead in the series.

All the early predictions before the series talked about an easy victory for the Bucks, with a good probability of a sweep.

But the commentators forgot one essential thing: one of the greatest playoff players of the current generation, Jimmy Butler, is playing in Miami.

Tonight, Butler delivered one of the most impressive performances ever in the playoffs, no less and no more, and brought the Heat closer to a sensational elimination of the one who is marked by the betting agencies and also by many commentators as the favorite to go all the way and win the championship.

Only 4 times in history has an 8 seed knocked off a 1 seed, but when Jimmy Butler is on your side, apparently anything is possible.

56 points were for Butler, who proves again and again that his version of the playoffs is indeed an extraordinary phenomenon.

This is the fourth highest number of points ever by a single player in a playoff game (Michael Jordan with 63, Algin Baylor with 61 and Donovan Mitchell with 57 before him), a personal career record for Butler, and an all-time record for a Miami player.

Butler did it all with a whopping 68% from the field (19 of 28) and when he gets to 9 rebounds.

On an evening like this, even a successful comeback by Giannis Antetokounmpo was forgotten.

The Greek Freak returned to the floor after missing two of the previous two games of the series, delivered an impressive triple-double of 26 points, 13 assists and 10 rebounds and was close to leading the Bucks to victory, until Butler stepped into action.

The Bucks led by 15 in the second half and also in the last quarter the advantage was 14, but 6 minutes to the end the Miami star made a private 0:13 run, and the advantage went to the Heat's side.

A minute and a half to the end, Brock Lopez restored Milwaukee's lead with a three-pointer, but Butler answered with a three-pointer and another basket, Jaro Holiday lost on the other end, and Butler and Adebayo closed the matter from the penalty line.

Even on such an amazing night, Butler still needed help to win.

He received it mainly from Bam Adebayo who finished with 15 and 8 rebounds, from Caleb Martin who added 12 and 9 and also scored important baskets, and from Gabe Vincent who contributed 10 and 8 assists.

On the other side, apart from Yannis, Brook Lopez also stood out with 36 points, 11 rebounds and 3 blocks.

Khris Middleton (8 assists and 6 rebounds) and Jrue Holiday (just 6 of 19 from the field) each added 14, but it wasn't enough, and Milwaukee will go into Game 5 in a make-or-break situation.
