The court in Barcelona rejected the request of Dani Alves' lawyer and refused to release him from prison on the grounds that there is still a danger that he will escape from Spain, but the Brazilian continues to hope that the report submitted by his representative to the judge will lead to a turning point in the rape case, based on testimony revealed in the Catalan newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" today (Wednesday).

It turns out that in the same report that Alves' lawyer gave to the judge in charge of the case, there is a confession of the complainant's cousin, who took part in the recreation during which the offense allegedly occurred.

"She admits that she spoke to her just as Alves had already entered the bathroom, and in fact admits that they wondered together whether the complainant should have gone in after him, but clarifies that the purpose was to talk," explains part of the document in which the footballer hangs his hopes.

The defense estimates that the proof that the same conversation between the women took place, may increase the chances that Alves will be released.

According to the Brazilian's lawyer, "the complainant's version must include an answer to the question - why did a grown woman voluntarily enter a bathroom with a grown man?".

Meanwhile, Alves' ex-wife, Joanna Sanz, received a flood of criticism after spending time at the Sutton club, where the alleged rape of which her ex-partner is accused took place.

This was revealed when Sanz posted a story about her friend's birthday celebrations in the same place, and after receiving aggressive messages as a result, she published a clarification: "I have the right to go out, have fun and move on with my life, since I did no harm to anyone and my life continues."
