Biathlon star Franzi Preuß looks back on a messed up year and a half, but is now healthy again, as she says after a long break.
Ruhpolding - Nothing went as it should with biathlete Franzi Preuss.
The year 2022 was one to forget for the winter sports enthusiast.
Shortly before the Olympics in Beijing, she fell on a staircase and injured herself.
Again and again they stopped injuries or illnesses.
In preparation for the 22/23 season, she even took a break on Sylt.
But the body did not want what Franzi Preuss wanted.
So it happened that she ended the season on January 23, 2023 and also took a long break from social media.
She ended it on April 23rd and finally got back to her fans.
Even with good news.
She left a long statement with some pictures.
"Hello again!
After a longer break from competitive sports and at the same time from social media, I wanted to get in touch again.
The last few months have been a completely new situation.
Without a training plan, without regular daily routines and without competitions.
Just listen to your body," Preuss writes on her Instagram profile.
Biathlete Preuß speaks of "super nice time with decent recreational value"
It was an uphill battle with herself, as she continues: "To be able to allow myself to feel exhausted.
Lots of time with family and friends.
Sport without performance thoughts, without specifications.
It was a super nice time with a decent recovery value!”, says the biathlete and she explains: “Fortunately the break had the desired effect.
The physical construction sites were cured and thus the energy and the fire came back to sport.
I'm all the more looking forward to being an athlete again with all the challenges.
I was also able to learn a lot about the body again.

Preuss gets encouragement from biathlon fans and Evi Dingebacher-Stehle
If that doesn't encourage the fans, what will?
In the photos, she shows herself cross-country skiing with her boyfriend Simon Schempp or skiing with her family.
A holiday trip with relaxation and the sea can also be seen.
Anything for the body that stood in her way for so long.
Evi Dingebacher-Stehle commented underneath: "You did exactly the right thing.
A little break is so good and now let's do something new.
Our fingers are crossed."
The majority of fans are also happy about the “good news”.
And thinks it's "great" how Preuss dealt with the situation.
The 29-year-old, who built a house in Ruhpolding together with ex-biathlete Simon Schempp, can now calmly concentrate on the new season and that it won't be as messed up as the previous one.
