Joel Embiid is announced as the MVP (from the Philadelphia Sixers' Twitter page)
After a particularly tight race, tonight (between Tuesday and Wednesday) Joel Embiid was crowned MVP of the 2022/23 season in the NBA.
For very long stages of the regular season, it seemed that Nikola Jokic would win the award for the third time in a row, but the Philadelphia star ended the season in a great way, public opinion changed and the Cameroonian was crowned for the first time in his career, after finishing second in the race last year.
Embiid won by an overwhelming majority, after receiving the most votes in the panel of commentators and journalists who decided the identity of the winner.
Embiid received 73 votes for first place, while Jokic received only 15.
Giannis Antetokounmpo, who finished third in the race, received 12 votes for first place.
