State Cup semi-final summary: Beitar Jerusalem - Maccabi Tel Aviv 1:3 (Sport 1)
A new-old era in Maccabi Tel Aviv: The Yellows announced this morning (Friday) the return of Ben Mansford to the team, four years after he left.
The contacts between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Mansford were published for the first time in Vala!
sport.
The former CEO this week ended his role as CEO of Blackpool after four years, and will return to Kiryat Shalom in an attempt to get Maccabi Tel Aviv back on track.
He will begin his duties at the beginning of June.
"Maccabi is a strict environment that places huge demands on everyone. I look forward to embracing and promoting everything that Maccabi Tel Aviv represents again," Mansford told the team's official website.
Mitch Goldhar said: "I welcome Ben's return to Maccabi Tel Aviv. Ben understands the club and my ambitions and expectations on and off the field. I'm already looking forward to working with him again."
Maccabi Tel Aviv hopes that his presence and what he has brought in the past will bring about a change for the next season, when it is clear that the team has a lot of work to do, when the continuation of Aitor Karanka's path at the club still needs to be examined.
And again with you.

Mansford joined Maccabi Tel Aviv for the first time in 2017 and was given extensive powers in a short time.
He left two years later after winning the championship and with two wins in the Toto Cup.
Mansford also won with Maccabi Tel Aviv twice in the Toto Cup.
He previously served as chairman of Barnsley and chairman of Leeds.
Beyond the administrative matters, Mansford is very knowledgeable in football, with a resume of club management and of course also worked as a player agent.
In the previous term, he succeeded in the fair play period of Maccabi Tel Aviv, pushed for the integration of young people who returned from the questions and was a dominant figure in Kiryat Shalom among the players.
He worked in full cooperation with Barak Itzhaki, and it will remain so next season as well.
