Miami – Not a good start for Nico Hülkenberg in the Formula 1 race weekend in Miami: In the first free practice session, the German lost the rear of his car and crashed into the barrier, causing the first red flag of the weekend.
Hülkenberg blamed the low level of grip he had on the track: "It seems as if there is a line where the grip is good - and if you then drive a little off the track, the grip decreases dramatically."

"I think: As a seasoned man and also as a father, you don't treat a young person like that.

So far, however, the Haas team boss has only had positive words for his new driver Nico Hülkenberg – even after the crash in Miami.
Despite everything, he stated that the racing team had a good day on Friday and was very satisfied overall.
Hülkenberg also commented positively on the track after the crash and also considers the car to be competitive in qualifying.
