FC Bayern: Boris Becker hopes for eleventh Bundesliga title in a row
The three-time Wimbledon winner made an explanation on the sidelines of the Laureus World Sports Awards in Paris on Monday. "Bayern are my favourite club, there's no question about that. And that's why I hope that they bring the one point lead over the finish line and become champions," the 55-year-old is quoted as saying by Sportbuzzer.
Three matchdays before the end of the current Bundesliga season, FCB are at the top of the standings, but the gap between their closest rivals from Dortmund is vanishingly small. However, Borussia will have to follow suit twice compared to FCB, which recently prompted BVB sporting director Sebastian Kehl to criticise the fixtures.

FC Bayern: Boris Becker praises FCB coach Tuchel
Becker sees the successes and consistency of the past decade as the biggest trump card in the race for the trophy. "I think that simply the experience, the fact that you have been champion ten times in a row, speaks for her," the former number one in the world assesses the situation.
The six-time Grand Slam winner also has a clear opinion on the change of coach from Julian Nagelsmann to Thomas Tuchel, who caused a lot of fuss in the industry at the end of March. "I'm a fan of Tuchel and I also believe that with the experience he has had at Chelsea and in Paris, he can give Bayern the strength and backing they need to take the lead," Becker explained.
Becker on Bayern coach Tuchel: "The right man"
For him, Tuchel is "the right man" to lead FC Bayern back to the top of the international rankings next year. In the current season, the Munich team lost out to Manchester City in the Champions League quarter-finals, and a 0-3 defeat in the first leg was followed by a 1-1 draw at the Allianz Arena.

Although the elimination in the round of the last eight was not the only reason for the unrest at the German record champions in recent months, it probably did not help to calm the situation either. CEO Oliver Kahn has faced criticism in the recent past, and sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic is also not coming off well in public at the moment. The regular meeting of the Supervisory Board, which was scheduled after Matchday 33 and at which the future of the FCB bosses will be decided, was even postponed a few days ago.
FC Bayern: Lewandowski is also keeping his fingers crossed for FCB in the title race
"A lot of experts are speaking up right now and know everything better. I'm holding back a bit," says Becker. At the event in the French capital, in addition to the former tennis professional, long-time Bayern striker Robert Lewandowski also took a stand on the fight for the Bundesliga title.
"I think Bayern are on the right track now. Of course, a lot has happened in recent weeks that can have an impact on the head, but I think Bayern are now a bit ahead," the FC Barcelona striker assessed the starting position in Germany's top flight in an interview with Sport 1.
There will be clarity on this matter by Matchday 34 at the latest. At the end of the season, FC Bayern will visit Cologne, while BVB will host Mainz 05 at the same time.
