Highlights: Ligue 1 side have not won in the league since mid-February. They are currently 17th in the table, three points behind second-placed Ligue 1. The team has lost three of its last four matches. They lost 2-1 at home to Toulouse on Saturday and 1-0 to Lille on Sunday. The final game of the season is against Lille, who are currently 14th. The last time Lille won the league was in 1998, when the team won 3-1.

Currently 17th and first relegated, the club has not won in the league since mid-February.

Engaged in an uncertain fight for the maintenance in Ligue 1, FC Nantes should separate this Tuesday from Antoine Kombouaré and bet on internal solutions for the final sprint, according to sources close to the club to AFP.

Pierre Aristouy, U19 coach, will be in charge of leading the team for the last four games of the season, assisted by Oswaldo Vizcarrondo, current coach of the women's team.

Called to the rescue in February 2021, Kombouaré had managed to snatch the maintenance that season and carried the team to the Coupe de France the following year, its first title in more than two decades.

But despite an honourable run in the Europa League and another 2023 France Cup final, he could not prevent the team from unscrewing in the league.

Three heavy setbacks in just one week

Currently 17th and first relegation, two points from Auxerre (16th) and three from Brest (15th) and Strasbourg (14th), Nantes has not won in the league since mid-February.

And the team has just suffered three heavy setbacks in just one week: a humiliation against Toulouse at the Stade de France (5-1) and two 2-0 defeats against Brest and Strasbourg, direct competitors for the maintenance.

President Waldemar Kita, a big consumer of coach, has therefore chosen to part ways with the Kanak coach to try to create an electroshock.

A former striker trained in Nantes, where he made his professional debut in 1999, Aristouy returned to the banks of the Loire in 2017 as a coach and has enjoyed convincing results with the U19s.

Vizcarrondo, a former Venezuelan international, also wore the Yellow and Green jersey (2013-2017). He returned in October to take charge of the women's team, struggling in D2 after coming close to the climb to D1 last year.
