Highlights: The Comex could choose, as early as Thursday, the one to be presented to the Federal Assembly in June. Former vice-president who has become interim number 1 since the departure of Noël Le Graët, Philippe Diallo is a huge favorite. Jean-Michel Aulas, pushed towards the exit of OL after 36 years of presidency on Monday, has the build. But the deadline comes too quickly for the former boss of Lyon, also invested in the file of the creation of a women's professional league.

The Comex could choose, as early as Thursday, the one to be presented to the Federal Assembly in June to become president of the ju body.

This is one of the items that emerges from the agenda of the next executive committee of the French football federation scheduled for Thursday from 9:30 am at the headquarters of the body. The twelve remaining members since the resignations in February of Noël Le Graët, ousted president of the FFF, and the president of the Paris League Jamel Sandjak, gather, in particular, to discuss the federal assembly of June 10, where the leaders of amateur and professional football meet. With the mission of electing a successor until December 2024, the date of the expiry of the initial mandate, in Le Graët.

The Executive Committee must therefore propose one or more names among its ten elected members, the only ones authorized as it stands to replace NLG, since the presidents of the Amateur Football League, Vincent Nolorgues, and the Amateur Football League Vincent Labrune are ex officio members of the Executive Committee and non-eligible. And this government of the FFF plans to decide this Thursday morning, just to give visibility to the voters of the federal assembly, according to several sources.

If the timing is still questionable, since this appointment could be postponed to the next executive committee on June 9, the identity of the Comex candidate is hardly in doubt. Former vice-president who has become interim number 1 since the departure of Noël Le Graët, Philippe Diallo is a huge favorite. Especially since the former right-hand man of the Breton has consolidated his place in recent weeks.

Jean-Michel Aulas should not go

At the beginning of April, it was he who endorsed the choice of the new director general of the FFF in the person of the lawyer Jean-François Vilotte, to replace Florence Hardouin, ousted in January. The same month, Philippe Diallo was elected to the UEFA executive committee where the France was no longer represented since Hardoun's departure. In short, Diallo has everything to go there, especially since the potential contenders are very few.

Marc Keller, often referred to as a potential successor to Noël Le Graët, is still at the head of the Strasbourg club (Ligue 1) and can not combine the two hats. Jean-Michel Aulas, pushed towards the exit of OL after 36 years of presidency on Monday, has the build. But the deadline comes too quickly for the former boss of Lyon, also invested in the file of the creation of a women's professional league. When questioned, several members do not believe in the Aulas option.

"It will be Philippe Diallo," decide several members of the Executive Committee. Another way: the Comex could recommend Thursday the candidacy of its interim president, before endorsing the thing once the two new members to succeed Sandjak and Le Graët in place. But then again, the outcome would be the same.
