Victories on all four cruises of the day propelled Cantor directly to first place overall in the Greek championship • Steinberg finished three cruises in second place and won the final cruise

An amazing surfing day for Sharon Kantor and Tamar Steinberg, who stand at the top of the overall rankings today (Wednesday) at the end of the second day of the European Windsurfing Championships in Greece.

Cantor started the day in ninth place, but wins on all four trips of the day catapulted her straight into first place overall, with just eight points to her duty. Tamar Steinberg, who competes in a different group of competitors, finishes the day in second place, immediately behind Kantor, with 11 points. Steinberg finished three cruises in second place and won the final cruise of the day.

For both sailors, it was certainly an impressive day, as despite the strong winds, which reached over thirty knots, they managed to maintain stability throughout the various cruises. The position of the two Israelis is even more impressive because they are the two youngest surfers in the top ten.

Shahar Tibi finishes the day in 11th, 4th, 4th and 4th places and drops one place from yesterday, to ninth place, followed by Kati Spichkov in 14th place and Maya Morris rounding out the second ten in 19th place.

In the men's team, Yoav Cohen drops one place from yesterday to 14th place and Tomer Vardimon, who led among Israelis at the beginning of the day, drops to 19th place. Tom Reuveni, who started the competition very weak yesterday, with two disqualifications, improves considerably today with cruises in 15th, 8th, 10th and 12th places and rises to 21st place overall, just ahead of Yoav Omer, who is in 22nd place.

Tomorrow, the fleet will be divided into the House of Gold and the House of Silver, with only the contenders of the upper house continuing to fight for a place in the Big Ten, leading to Sunday's medal rounds. The strong winds accompanying the competition from the start are expected to continue at least until Friday, and it remains to be seen whether they will enlighten the Israelis and allow them to increase the gap at the top.
