Farewell to Dunja Hayali: Gym exit after five years

Farewell to Hayali after 41 broadcasts

In August 2018, Hayali hosted the sports show for the first time and has been part of the moderation team ever since. Next Saturday, the presenter will moderate the format one last time. Accordingly, her 41st appearance will also be her last.

The 48-year-old announced the end herself via Instagram. "After 41 broadcasts, I say goodbye and will concentrate fully on the "moma" and the "heute journal", said the sports-loving presenter on social media. On Thursday, ZDF confirmed the end.

Hayali will remain with ZDF

As she announced in her farewell post, Hayali will remain with ZDF. She would like to focus more on the "ZDF morning magazine", where she has been an integral part since 2007. In addition, she will continue to moderate the "heute journal".

After completing her studies at the Sport University in Cologne, she worked for nine years in the sports presenter of Deutsche Welle. In 2007, she moved to ZDF, where she has hosted a wide variety of formats.

Three shipments are one too many

In the Instagram post, Hayali gave an insight into her emotional world. "But three shows are - for different reasons - one too many, at least for me," the presenter explained the end. "I am grateful for this interesting, varied, challenging, and above all enriching time," it continued.
