Highlights: TSV Erding will not send its own men's team into the football points round after all. In the past few days, an agreement has been reached with Rot-Weiß Klettham on a cooperation that ensures "that football will continue to be offered in one of the oldest sports clubs in the district," says TSV President Rainer Winter. The FCH is intended to bundle forces and thereby raise the level of Erdinger football. The "FC Herzogstadt" project will start in the coming football season.

Erding – TSV Erding will not send its own men's team into the football points round after all. This was confirmed yesterday by President Rainer Winter. In the past few days, an agreement has been reached with Rot-Weiß Klettham on a cooperation that ensures "that football will continue to be offered in one of the oldest sports clubs in the district," said Winter.

As reported, the "FC Herzogstadt" project will start in the coming football season with kickers from RW Klettham and the football department of TSV Erding, which has been unofficially called FC Erding since the cooperation with SC Erding around 20 years ago. The FCH is intended to bundle forces and thereby raise the level of Erdinger football. On the other hand, the work of the volunteers could be spread over several shoulders.

What RWK football boss Patrick Tischer describes as a "moral fusion" suddenly looked like the great FCE exodus, as its players were to move to Klettham, under whose umbrella FC Herzogstadt will play. Since the same was also planned for the youth and at least planned for the AH, the TSV feared for the loss of its traditional department.

At the departmental meeting in April, Vice President Hermann Meilinger finally informed the members that TSV would provide its own football team in the A-Class with a new department management – yet to be elected. According to information from the local newspaper, a quintet had already been formed, which also had a good two dozen players up their sleeves for a new team. Now they have been canceled, reported the spokesman of this quintet. "We just wanted to help," he said. He did not want to go into more detail about this yet.

According to Winter, the cooperation with Klettham will look like this: The FCE players who want to play for FC Herzogstadt 1 or 2 will register with RW Klettham. However, there will be a third team, whose name – possibly FCH 3 – has not yet been determined, but which will play under the umbrella of TSV Erding. Here, Klettham players would then switch to TSV. According to Winter, the FC Herzogstadt youth project will continue to run entirely under the umbrella of RWK. Winter emphasizes that players who move to Klettham because of the right to play in 1 and 2 can also remain passive members of TSV.

This is also important to Max Malterer. He is the spokesman for FC Herzogstadt and a member of the provisional TSV department management. "We have always seen the FCH as a joint project. It was never part of our idea that the Erding football department should die," he affirms. However, Malterer acknowledged understanding for such fears, especially since the previous department management wanted to withdraw completely from TSV. "That was a mistake on our part, but we can correct it."

According to Malterer, people who are also actively participating in the FC Herzogstadt project will stand for election to the TSV department management at the unscheduled meeting on 24 May. Further details of the cooperation are currently still being worked out and checked for the specifications of the Bavarian Football Association. Winter spoke of a "very good solution, very well for Klettham as well as for us". And Malterer spoke for FCH: "We are very pleased that we now have TSV on our side and continue to work well together."
