Kimmich as Kroos' successor? Real Madrid forges transfer plan for Bayern star

2023-05-11T08:06:03.417Z

Highlights: Joshua Kimmich is open to a move abroad, according to reports in Spain. The Bayern Munich captain's contract runs until 2025. The 28-year-old has won virtually everything there is to win at club level. Real Madrid have had excellent experiences with German stars in the past. The Madrilenians have won four Champions League titles since the summer of 2014. They have also won trophies with Toni Kroos, Mesut Ozil, Philipp Kessler, Manuel Bonzke and Sami Khedira.

Real Madrid have a gigantic midfield. In 2024, however, it should be over for Toni Kroos and Luka Modric. Then, according to the Spanish media, Bayern star Joshua Kimmich is in his sights.

Munich – This transfer would be the ideal solution – not for FC Bayern, but for Real Madrid! According to Spanish media reports, the royals are said to be looking into signing Joshua Kimmich (28). President Florentino Perez (76) likes big names and in the summer of 2024 he is very excited about investing in the German six.

Will Kimmich become Real's new midfield leader after Kroos and Modric?

The fact is that Real's midfield is currently gigantic. Veterans Luka Modric (37) and Toni Kroos (33) have been pulling the strings for years and have led the club to four Champions League titles since the summer of 2014. With Aurelien Tchouameni (23), Federico Valverde (24) and Eduardo Camavinga (20), who currently often plays as a left-back, Real are also very well positioned in central midfield. In the coming summer, Dortmund jewel Jude Bellingham (19) is to join for a lot of money.

That, too, is part of the truth: Modric and Kroos are expected to extend their expiring contracts until 2024. For the time after the super oldies, Real would need a new established leader in the youngster midfield from next year.

Joshua Kimmich can well imagine a move abroad

Real and Kimmich? That could fit. However, a move this summer is out of the question for the current Bayern captain. His contract runs until 2025. Of course, the German record champions do not want to give up their top performer prematurely. However, if it is not possible to agree on an extension of his working paper, the Munich club would have to sell Kimmich in the summer of 2024 in order to collect a decent transfer fee.

According to reports, Kimmich is open to a move abroad. Asked about this in 2022, he told the French football magazine So Foot: "That would be an interesting challenge." He doesn't know what will happen in a few years. He has a lot of fun at FC Bayern, "but somewhere in my head there is always this professional and personal challenge of discovering new horizons one day".
