Julian Nagelsmann's future is still unclear. Former national goalkeeper René Adler advises him to move to England.
London – For several months, the name Harry Kane haunted Munich. The English top striker might have been a solution for FC Bayern, after all, they are still looking for a classic top centre-forward. Especially at times when Julian Nagelsmann was still a coach, the topic was hot. In the meantime, Kane is said to have been removed from the list. But will there perhaps be a collaboration between the Englishman and Nagelsmann the other way around?

Julian Nagelsmann's future still unclear
The sacked Bayern coach has still not made a decision about his sporting future. Most recently, Nagelsmann bought a plot of land on Lake Tegernsee, his girlfriend Lena Wurzenberger did not take up her planned job at BMW. At the moment, it seems as if the Munich champion coach of the previous season wants to recover first - and calmly sound out the market for new, interesting tasks.
Immediately after his expulsion, in which Oliver Kahn is still bothered by a circumstance, rumours quickly arose that Nagelsmann could move to England. Especially in London you could use capable coaches, it was said. There is still a need at Chelsea and Tottenham at the moment. Frank Lampard is only a temporary solution for the Blues until the summer, as is Conte's successor Ryan Mason at Spurs. The former national goalkeeper and current Premier League expert for Sky, René Adler, has a piece of advice for Nagelsmann – and it takes him to the north of the British metropolis.

"Tottenham would be a very good opportunity for Nagelsmann: top club, top infrastructure with stadium and training ground, plus financial possibilities for reconstruction, even without the Champions League," explained the former keeper, who played in the Bundesliga for Leverkusen, HSV and Mainz, in an interview with kicker (issue of 11 May).
"Recently, we have had defensive-minded coaches and sometimes destructive football. That could be concealed as long as the results were right, no one really enjoyed it. But if Nagelsmann were to come along now, someone who plays offensively, who wants possession of the ball, it would spark a spirit of optimism."

Nagelsmann a topic in the Premier League: Is he still waiting for international business?
Nagelsmann is said to have already cancelled Chelsea, around Tottenham it had also become quiet recently – but nothing was heard of a basket for the Lilywhites. Spurs are currently only sixth in the Premier League, with three matchdays to go in a place that at first glance is not enough for European Cup qualification.

However, because both Manchester clubs are in the FA Cup final and will most likely end up in the top four in the league and thus in the Champions League, the starting place for the Europa League in the league achieved by winning the cup will be passed on. Thus, Tottenham could still play in the Europa League in the end – if they are not intercepted by Brighton (two games and two points less, as of 12 May).

A complex situation. It is possible that Nagelsmann is tying his decision to international business and therefore wants to wait and see. If it were up to Adler, the former Bayern coach would soon be in London. Ralf Rangnick also recently advised Nagelsmann to move to Tottenham. At White Hart Lane, he would probably have the number nine with Kane, which he has missed at Bayern, where he will receive less salary from the summer, since the departure of Robert Lewandowski. (akl)
