Israeli judoka Inbar Lanir wins gold medal in Qatar (Judo Federation)
Inbar Lanir provided one of the greatest moments of Israeli judo in recent years, when she won a gold medal at the World Championships in Qatar. In the semifinals, she defeated Italy's Alice Blandy, ranked No. 1 in the world, and in the final she beat France's Audrey Chumau, the former world champion. Lanir is the tenth Israeli to win an individual medal at the World Championships, and the third to win a gold medal after Yarden Jerbi (2013) and Sagi Muki (2019).
"I am happy to dedicate my medal to the residents of the south who are going through a difficult time, to IDF soldiers and to the entire State of Israel," Lanir said. "It was so important to me to do something good during such complex and difficult times, and I am happy and happy that I succeeded. It was an amazing day and everything came together well for me at the exact and right time.
A big thank you to the team headed by Shani Hershko, to coaches Ido Bar and Charles Chibana, to Moshe Ponti, chairman of the association, and to my sponsors: Altman Health, Direct Insurance, Danel Motors and Eisenberg-Eliash Public Relations and Investor Relations. Thank you to all my supportive environment, my beloved family and my partner Jonathan."

Inbar made a great day of judo today, and it was very important for us to bring joy to the country during these difficult and complex times. Inbar proved character and mental strength, came out of retardation, and everything came together for her. Huge pride on a perfect day."
