Israel's judo team celebrated yesterday (Friday) not only Inbar Lanir's winning the title of world champion at the competition held in Doha, Qatar, but also the vow achievement of Peter Palchik, who won the bronze medal.
For Palchik, who competes in the under-100kg weight category, this is his first personal achievement in this competition, having co-won the team competition last year in Tashkent, with the continental title in 2020 and bronze in 2018 on his resume.

Palchik, who just a week ago became a father to twins, had a great day of fighting and had it not been for his disqualification in the quarterfinals, he might have made it all the way to the final, and in any case, thanks to him, the team's record rose to two medals, which has never happened before and the 14th medal overall in the history of the sport.
Israel men's team coach Oren Samadja said: "Despite a very difficult draw, Peter showed great determination and beat excellent and strong athletes, Olympic medalists and world championships. Competition is definitely good, joyful and encouraging. The men's team finishes the World Championships with a bronze medal by Peter and fifth place by Sagi Muki, and compliments come to the athletes and staff, I am proud of them. Big congratulations to Inbar, Nir and Shani Hershko for this great achievement, an amazing day."
