Bayern loanee Malik Tillman missed out on the championship in Scotland with Glasgow Rangers. Nevertheless, he won an individual title.
Glasgow/Munich – Just over a week ago, Celtic Glasgow were crowned Scottish champions, while long-time rivals Glasgow Rangers were left behind. Nevertheless, the loan of Malik Tillman, trained in the youth department of FC Bayern Munich and active for Rangers in the 2022/23 season, proved to be a complete success.

Bayern loanee Malik Tillman, Scotland's Young Player of the Year
The 20-year-old, who attracted attention with consistently good performances and was a regular at the traditional club until his thigh injury at the end of April, was voted "Best Young Player of the Year". This was announced by the Scottish players' association "PFA Scotland" on Monday.
It is not known how many votes the 20-year-old received from his teammates as well as the players of the opponents and who followed in the other places. In a total of 43 competitive games for the club, Tillman contributed twelve goals and provided five assists.

FC Bayern: Glasgow Rangers have option to buy Malik Tillman
It remains to be seen whether Tillman, for whom the current season has already run after his injury, will also wear the jersey of the "Gers" permanently. Glasgow Rangers have secured a purchase option for the attacker, which is said to be around 5.7 million euros, according to media reports. However, the club wants to push it a little, it is said.
"We've said we'll wait until mid-May to talk because there's a lot to do," coach Michael Beale was quoted as saying in the media in early May. Previously, there was already an exchange between the two clubs, as the coach confirmed. However, this would rest until the end of the season.
Rangers coach Beale would like to keep Malik Tillman
Beale, however, has already expressed his admiration for Tillman several times. "He won't find a coach who loves him more than I do," the coach said on Sky Sports in April, for example, but also stressed: "Of course we also have to talk to the player about whether it's right for him." If it were up to the coach, the youngster would most likely stay on the island. But is that what Tillman himself wants?

My Area
"I just want to play as much as possible. I don't care, but I don't really care where that will be. I feel comfortable here, very much so. I bring my performances, which I think I like quite well here at Rangers. But I could also imagine that they like it quite a bit at Bayern. Therefore... The outcome is open," the four-time USA international told kicker in February.
A final decision on Tillman's future is expected to be made in the coming weeks. Whether the young professional of the year could continue the promising development he has embarked on in the current season in the prominent squad of the Bundesliga table leaders is likely to have a significant influence on the decision. However, doubts about this are quite justified. (masc)
